*The e-comm dude writing this stole this information from a Suzuki product comparison page for the two bikes. This list is not exhaustive, and is for comparison purposes only, etc.

Not having ridden a GSX-R1000 since piling up at a track back whenever, I'm impressed the base price of these has almost doubled since. The Canadian Suzuki site says nothing yet of a TCS for the A, citing some copy related to the engine instead, oddly enough:

Anyway, we look forward to updates from them on that.

Browsing forums seemed to suggest that the Balance Free Fork (visually indicated by an external reservoir at the bottom) was optimized for the spirited street rider, and that the Big Piston Fork (visually absent of an external reservoir) is a good starting point for the track-bound hooligan; don't know why, not going to pretend to, but racers have their unique preferences.

The main differences between the GSX-R1000A and the GSX-R1000R boils down to four major things:

  • +$3200 price difference for the "R"
  • Front suspension setup
  • Rear suspension setup
  • Traction control-related electronics

We sell both versions of this bike, but as we all know, everything is backordered and delayed. Call or email if you want us to get one locked down for you.

We don't really do the clickbait thing, but if you found us by searching the topic, check out the Suzuki OEM Oil Change Kits we sell for these bikes.
